- An artificial tooth is placed securely onto the implant.

Dr. Sunil Thanik
DMD, MSDDr. Sunil Thanik comes from a family of dentists – both his father and grandfather were dentists. That probably explains why he has been a fan of dentistry since he was a kid. In his mind, dentistry is the perfect field in which science and people come together.
During dental school, he was fascinated by the connection between whole body health and gum disease. For this reason, he considered specializing in Periodontology. When he learned that periodontists often build long-lasting relationships with their patients, he knew it was the right path for him.
When you first meet Dr. Thanik, you’ll immediately notice his warmth and compassion. You’ll also be happy to learn that he has a great sense of humor! Dr. Thanik was born and raised in Canada – if you listen closely, you may still hear bits of an accent.
Dr. Amy LaCoste
DMD, MSDr. Amy LaCoste grew up in Sacramento, California, and later attended Oregon State University for her undergraduate studies. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where she also completed specialized training in periodontics and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree.
As a dedicated periodontist, Dr. LaCoste has extensive experience in diagnosing, treating, and preventing periodontal diseases. With a passion for enhancing both oral health and aesthetics, she is skilled in a variety of periodontal procedures, including advanced treatments for periodontal disease, dental implants, and periodontal soft tissue surgeries. Dr. LaCoste is committed to personalized care, collaborating closely with general dentists and patients to create customized treatment plans that align with individual health goals. Dr. LaCoste remains at the forefront of her field through ongoing education and training, including LANAP certification and dermal filler certification. She blends the latest techniques with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.
Outside of work, Amy, her husband, and their daughter enjoy attending Timber and Thorn soccer games, visiting local eateries, and exploring the wineries of Oregon.
