What is a dental extraction?

A dental extraction is a routine dental procedure that is used to remove a broken, decayed, or nonrestorable tooth. This is usually the last resort, as most dentists do all that they can to preserve the patient’s natural tooth.

  • Excessive decay
  • Periodontal disease or infection
